Kids with a Cause.
On Saturday 2nd Dec students and parents of local martial arts club KMA Sports Academy gathered at St. Peter's Primary School to help make a difference for a local charity.
Hope For Food provide soup kitchens to those in need. They serve between 65 and 85 clients each session. Their principle aim is to ensure that homeless and disadvantaged people in Bournemouth get some hot food and drinks each week, throughout the year, whatever the weather conditions.
One of the core values of KMA Sports Academy is compassion for others. I asked the children, who range in age from 4yrs - 11yrs to think about how it makes them feel to give something to someone. A resounding response; 'it makes me feel good' 'happy' 'positive' so I asked them how do you think the people will feel who receive the gift you give? 'happy' 'excited' 'tears of joy' It's not all about breaking boards and fitness. The values in the club deliver a deeper meaning. All the kids and parents collected a plethora of new toys, pencils, colouring books, bubble bath, hair clips, hats, gloves, scarves as well as other little things that we would give to child aged between 5-16 years.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for their support and a huge thanks to all the kids of KMA Sports Academy. They demonstrated true compassion. Kind regards Des Day Coach - KMA Sports Academy
