Head Coach - with over 33 years martial arts experience. Previously a GB competitor and GB coach.
Fully DBS (CRB) enhanced checked and Insured and certified through NSPCC for Child Protection (CPD). Also NVQ CACHE qualified in understanding children and young people with Mental Health. I
Started learning martial arts at the age of 8 with Shotokan Karate under the guidance of Sensei Enoeda and Sensei Bob Poynton. Des Day's journey in WT Taekwondo began much later. Competing in both disciplines of Technical display and Sparring. He had the privilege to represent his country at International, European and World events and compete against some of the worlds best. He's also Coached the national GB squad and now enjoys coaching and mentoring all ages through his sports academy.
Volunteer assistant Coach - Hannah Gander has practised ITF Taekwondo since 2014 and been an active competitor on the circuit and has been studying WT Taekwondo since 2017. A resident at the Arts University studying Visdual Communications and member on the Arts University Bournemouth Taekwondo Club. Hannah has qualifications from NCS and sports teams as well as a mentor to students.
Volunteer Assistant Coach - Karim Calvo has been practising a variety of sports and martial arts since he was a child and has been an active practitioner of WT Taekwondo since 2018. Winning silver medal at the University Championships in 2019. Karim studies at the Arts University Bournemouth and his hobbies aside from Taekwondo include drawing and chess.
