Head Coach - with over 33 years martial arts experience. Previously a GB competitor and GB coach.
Fully DBS (CRB) enhanced checked and Insured and certified through NSPCC for Child Protection (CPD). Also NVQ CACHE qualified in understanding children and young people with Mental Health. I
Started learning martial arts at the age of 8 with Shotokan Karate under the guidance of Sensei Enoeda and Sensei Bob Poynton. Des Day's journey in WT Taekwondo began much later. Competing in both disciplines of Technical display and Sparring. He had the privilege to represent his country at International, European and World events and compete against some of the worlds best. He's also Coached the national GB squad and now enjoys coaching and mentoring all ages through his sports academy.
Carolina Taner (Carol), full DBS (CRB) enhanced checked.
With over 8 years in Karate Shotokan, previously represented Portugal/Madeira Island in international level competitions achieving various medals in sparring throughout the years.
Carol, also holds various qualifications working with special needs and is full paediatric/adults first aids trained.
Carol have two little girls that just started their martial arts journey.
Mark obtained his Taekwondo Black Belt from TAGB in 2010. After a career in industry in London, he moved to Bournemouth in 2015 and spends more time on hobbies and passions including Martial Arts. As well as TKD, Mark received an instructor certification in Krav Maga in 2013 (and taught a class in Surrey), plus a 1st Dan in Real Combat System from Geoff Thompson in 2014. Mark also holds several BTEC Level 3 qualifications in martial arts, including, The Legal Aspects of using Self-defence, Conflict Management, Physical restraint, Physical Intervention. Mark is fully Insured and DBS checked and holds a Red Cross first aid certification. His wife, Tanya, also received her Taekwondo black belt in 2010 and their 2 boys are just starting their martial arts journey.
